Treatments for Men

Excessive Perspiration

Nuisance sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is the term given to excessive perspiration. Treatment with diluted botulinum toxin (underarms) can be most effective in significantly reducing perspiration. We also use a process called Iontophoresis (for treatment of the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet)

Botulinum Toxin

The area to be treated is first painted with iodine and dried. Next, powdered starch is dusted over the area and the sweat glands more easily identified before treatment. The procedure involves injections with a very fine needle into the skin containing sweat glands in the armpit. The procedure normally takes about 30 minutes to complete, causes minimal discomfort, and the effects can last for 3-6 months. The procedure can be repeated as required.

There is no typical patient profile for this procedure. Young or old, if excessive sweating is becoming a nuisance or causing social or professional problems, consider talking your options through with one of the doctors at The Clinic.

Many of our patients are simply delighted with the results - significantly reduced or absent sweating - ask the doctor at The Clinic if you would be interested in this treatment.

Iontophoresis

Do you suffer from nuisance sweating of the Soles or Palms? Help is available.

For many patients, Iontophoresis can provide welcome relief from this troublesome condition. A regular programme of Iontophoresis (placing the palms and soles into shallow baths of electrically charged solution using a special machine) can help reduce this nuisance problem.

Why not ask the Medical Staff whether Botulinum Toxin or Iontophoresis would be a suitable for you?
